Most trainers are business owners – micro-business owners. Which means most of us wear all hats required to run a business: accounting, human relations, marketing, production, public relations . . well, you get the point. It can become absolutely overwhelming and things start slipping through the cracks. More importantly, consistency suffers – you give one client a refund because they have a good story and – to be honest – you like them; you don’t give another client a refund because you’re in a bad mood that day. You forget to do follow up reports. Your database is pathetic. Marketing is haphazard, at best. You find yourself writing out the same instructions to clients over and over, because you don’t have time to sit down and create a handout.
