Missing Animal Response K9 Training

This 10-week on-line course instructs you how to train your dog to locate lost cats (through MAR Cat Detection training) or to scent discriminate trail the scent of lost dogs (through MAR Trailing Dog training).

Participants use a GoPro camera to film their dogs each week following homework assignments given my instructors. Those videos are uploaded to a secret FB page and viewed by the MAR K9 instructor. The instructor will develop a customized written analysis along with homework. Students meet each week with the instructor in a live webinar and are able to not only learn how to advance with their own dogs, but can also observe the other dogs in their class and learn from their progress. ONLY 5 STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN EACH CLASS. To participate in the class, dogs must not have major fear or aggression issues and must either LOVE cats or LOVE to play with other dogs.

While we do not use standard “tracking” techniques, but instead we use scent discrimination trailing work similar to the methods used in the books “How to Train a Police Bloodhound” by Kevin Kocher and “Dog Detectives: Train Your Dog to Find Lost Pets” by Kat Albrecht.

We actually have TWO classes starting in this same week–one that starts Tues June 18th at 5:00pm PST/8:00 pm EST and meets every Tues night and the other starts Thurs June 20th at 5:00pm PST/8:00pm EST and meets every Thurs night.
