Blue-9 and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers will recognize an APDT member committed to careers in the professional dog training and working dog industry  by presenting the Blue-9 Working Dog scholarship from the APDT and Blue-9 during the APDT’s 23rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Congratulations to Deputy Kristi Bridgman with King County Sheriff’s Office in Seattle, Wash. She has been awarded as the recipient of the 2016 Blue-9 Working Dog Shelter Scholarship.

The Blue-9 Working Dog Scholarship Program allows certified working dog handlers or certified instructors of working dog programs to attend the APDT Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show. Eligibility for the Blue-9 Working Dog Scholarship includes a certified instructor of a professional working dog program, or the handler of a federal, state, national or international K9 from the police, military, government agency, professional detection, or SAR field.

Additional information about this program offered through the APDT Foundation is available through the Awards and Scholarship section of the APDT Foundation website.

Blue-9 Pet Products took flight in 2013 when conversations with the professional K9 training community revealed the need for a platform designed specifically for training use. After gathering input from respected trainers working with dogs trained for agility, military and police use, and “working” application as well as veterinarians and animal behaviorists, The KLIMB was born.  The KLIMB provides a home base that dogs quickly come to understand is just for them, allowing them to feel secure in a space they know they belong.

The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., was founded in 1993 to be an inclusive forum for trainers to network with each other, provide educational opportunities, and grow the profession. Currently, the APDT reaches more than 5,200 members worldwide and is actively involved in ethics issues, business management, research, and continuing education in the professional dog training profession and pet industry.
