Greenville, SC, September 20, 2012 — Dog owners can conveniently have dogs in-training reviewed by professionals, no matter their location. The APDT, an organization of more than 6,000 professional dog trainers, is pleased to now allow students to submit videos online for evaluation. Great for pet owners who do not live in an area with an approved APDT C.L.A.S.S. evaluator, students registered in the organization’s C.L.A.S.S. program can simply upload videos showing dogs performing test items for review.

C.L.A.S.S. is a three-level assessment program for pet owners to test real-life skills with their canine companions. The three levels of the program are named after university degree programs: the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. Pet owners can earn B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. certificates with their dogs C.L.A.S.S. by successfully passing each evaluation level. APDT-approved Evaluators administer evaluations and score performances of dog/student teams.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide dog owners with this easy and convenient way to have their dogs evaluated,” said Mychelle Blake, APDT President and CEO. “This is a great tool for owners who might live in an area without an approved APDT C.L.A.S.S. evaluator close by. We can easily review dogs following the evaluation criteria and provide helpful feedback and C.L.A.S.S. program approval.”

The APDT developed the educational program, C.L.A.S.S. to help ensure four-legged friends are well-trained and safe towards others. The proactive program encourages owners to use positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs for “real life skills” while helping build stronger relationships with pets and features three training levels. Assessed skills in each level vary in the amount of difficulty before pets ‘graduate’ and, in addition, owners can also search an online database for approved C.L.A.S.S. instructors in their part of the country.

To upload videos of dogs in training, participants can simply create an account at www.mydoghasclass.com and follow the instructions provided at www.mydoghasclass.com/students/submit-video/.
